About Me!

I started dancing when I was 5 because my mother introduced me too it.  She used to dance as well and because of that both my brother and sister used to dance.  When I first started I did freestyle, but quickly got into Ballroom and Latin American where my first dancing partner was my brother! We danced together for several years and our first competition was at a medallist competition up in Corby, this is a great way to start competing because you normally only dance against people of a similar standard.

When I turned 14 I started dancing with Paul Streeter who I stayed with until I was 18.  We competed at many levels going right the way through intermediate and Pre-Champ up to Amateur.  We danced at many venues including the British Open in Blackpool and at the Tower Ballroom in Edgbaston before it was pulled down.  I was very lucky in that my mom is a fantastic dress maker and so made all of my outfits which always looked amazing on the dance floor and a lot of them are still being worn today by some of the younger up and coming dancers.

Once I stopped competing I went into doing shows and decided to turn my hobby in to a profession because at the time to maintain amateur status you were not allowed to earn anything.  Since then I have done shows at Saddlers Wells, and done extras work on Peak Practice, Crossroads and even a charity music video starring Christoper Lee.  The best best was probably being a backing dancer for Lionel Riche for his show at the NEC.

I am now doing my associate level teaching exam in Ballroom having complete my exams in Latin American and for the future I would not only like to continue my teaching career but maybe open my own dance school one day.
